      Passenger Tax Austria

      Flugabgabe Österreich - Calculation

      The tax applies to the departure of a passenger from an international Austrian airport. Currently these are:

      • Vienna (LOWW)
      • Salzburg (LOWS)
      • Linz (LOWL)
      • Innsbruck (LOWI)
      • Klagenfurt (LOWK)
      • Graz (LOWG)

       

      The tax is dependent on the length of the flight. It amounts to 

      • €30.00 per departing passenger for flights where the distance between departure and arrival airport is shorter than 350km
      • €12.00 per departing passenger for flights where the distance between departure and arrival airport is longer than 350km

       

      The following exemptions apply:

      • Aircraft with MTOW ≤ 2000kg
      • Military, humanitarian, ambulance, state, training, or private flights
      • Infants under 2 years old without their seats
      • Crew members including deadhead crews
      • Transfer passengers with a layover <24h
      • Departures following an unscheduled landing [Exemption Not Applied]

       

      If the transportation is subject to VAT, the rate of €12.00 or €30.00 includes VAT. So the duty itself comes up to €10.62 + €1.38 or €26.55 + €3.45 respectively.
