Email Report for a BRIGHT Dashboard

Configuring Email Report Settings for a QuickSight Dashboard. This guide explains how to schedule and send Amazon QuickSight dashboard reports via email.​

Steps to Configure Email Reports

  1. Access the Dashboard:

    • Log in to your Amazon QuickSight account.

    • Navigate to the dashboard you intend to share.​

  2. Schedule the Report:

    • Click on the Share button located at the top-right corner of the dashboard.

    • Select Schedule email report from the dropdown menu.​

  3. Configure Email Settings:

    • Report Name: Enter a name for the scheduled report.

    • Recurrence: Choose how often the report should be sent (e.g., daily, weekly).

    • Time: Set the time of day for the report delivery.

    • Time Zone: Select the appropriate time zone.​

  4. Add Recipients:

    • In the To field, enter the email addresses of the recipients.

    • Note: Recipients must have QuickSight accounts within the same subscription.​

  5. Customize Message (Optional):

    • Add a subject line and message body for the email.​

  6. Save the Schedule:

    • Click Create to save the scheduled email report.​

 

Important Notes

  • Only BRIGHT EDITOR users with QuickSight accounts in the same subscription can receive scheduled reports directly.​

  • To share reports with individuals outside the BRIGHT EDITOR users, consider forwarding the email manually or setting up an automatic forwarding rule in your email client.​

  1. Schedule Reports to Your Account: Set up the desired report schedule to be sent to the email linked with your account (IAM user).

  2. Automate Email Forwarding: Set up your email client (e.g., Outlook, Gmail) to automatically forward these reports to the recipients' email addresses. You can establish a specific subject line to facilitate the automatic forwarding setup.
